Ja Rule spoke out this morning, disputing rumors that he was overwhelmed in New York City. The rapper stated the confrontation really occurred backstage throughout the Brooklyn cease of Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine” tour—not exterior the Manhattan restaurant Sei Less, as had been broadly reported.

According to Ja, pressure broke out backstage: “Fat Joe was there. Rich was there. This is a melee,” he stated, recalling a chaotic scene. He described being bodily held again, with folks making an attempt to maintain him from getting concerned. As safety intervened, issues briefly calmed. He argued that Black artists face a unique customary. In his phrases, “This is how they do business as usual. Nothing happened. Nothing to see here. Crazy.”
