Questlove Teases Unreleased D'Angelo Music: "You'll See Soon"

Questlove hinted that an unreleased D’Angelo challenge could quickly see the sunshine of day, sparking hope for brand spanking new materials.

Questlove teased the existence of unreleased music from the late D’Angelo whereas honoring funk icon Sly Stone on the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony over the weekend.

The Roots drummer and Oscar-winning filmmaker revealed the information throughout an interview with leisure reporter Courtney Tezeno, following his tribute efficiency for Sly and the Family Stone.

When requested about unreleased tracks from D’Angelo, he responded with a understanding smile and mentioned, “You’ll see soon.”

He added, “It’s always the sound of yesterday, but for the future. This record is no different.”

D’Angelo, who handed away in October 2025 after a battle with pancreatic most cancers, left behind a legacy that reshaped trendy R&B.

Albums like Voodoo and Black Messiah cemented his affect on neo-soul and Hip-Hop, and his loss of life left a void within the music world.

Questlove featured D’Angelo in his newest documentary, Sly Lives, which explores the rise, fall and affect of Sly Stone.

The movie follows Questlove’s acclaimed Summer of Soul and continues his deep dive into the lives of music legends.

The tribute live performance introduced collectively a powerhouse lineup together with Stevie Wonder, Maxwell, Beck and Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers. Together, they carried out a medley of Sly and the Family Stone classics in celebration of the group’s Hall of Fame induction.

D’Angelo’s final album, Black Messiah, dropped in 2014. With Questlove’s remarks, there’s renewed hope that extra of the Virginia-born artist’s work could quickly emerge.
