Mopreme Shakur Takes Aim At Drake Over Tupac Chain Controversy
Mopreme Shakur referred to as out Drake over his buy of Tupac’s Death Row chain and questioned why the jewellery had not stayed within the household.
Mopreme Shakur weighed in on Drake spending massive on what’s believed to be Tupac Shakur‘s original Death Row Records chain, calling out the rapper’s intentions and questioning the authenticity of the acquisition.
“My man need to think more about his moves,” Mopreme mentioned throughout an interview with Loren Lorosa, referring to Drake’s current headline-making acquisition. “Because I just saw an interview with him in London, talking about London got the best rappers. London rappers are better than American rappers. So why are you so seeking after the King of Raps’ jewels, literal jewels?”
Mopreme, who’s Tupac’s stepbrother, didn’t cease there.
“If England has the best rappers, why are you doing this?” he questioned. “So I don’t know.”
While he made it clear he wasn’t attempting to stir drama, Mopreme expressed disappointment that the chain didn’t keep inside the household.
“I think the family should have all of ‘Pac’s things, personally,” he added. “But things don’t always work out that way. But my personal opinion. That’s what I feel.”
Drake Shows Off Tupac Shakur’s Chain As Authenticity Comes Under Scrutiny
Drake made headlines final month after revealing he had bought the diamond-studded Death Row pendant, which options the label’s emblem and a nod to Tupac’s 1996 album All Eyez On Me.
The piece was acquired from memorabilia seller Alexander Bitar, who focuses on uncommon Hip-Hop artifacts. Though the precise value hasn’t been confirmed, consultants estimate it landed someplace between $500,000 and $1 million.
Drake showcased the chain on Instagram, posting detailed photos of the pendant alongside a photograph from Tupac’s All Eyez on Me period.
The transfer adopted his 2023 buy of Tupac’s customized gold crown ring, which bought for over $1 million at public sale.
But not everybody’s satisfied the chain is legit. Suge Knight publicly forged doubt on its authenticity, calling it “not 2Pac’s chain” and “not a Death Row chain.”
He added, “Whoever sold you that chain, Drake — you need to go beat his a##.”
