The U.Okay. versus U.S. rap debate is getting spicier. On Sunday (July 13), Joyner Lucas took to social media for an preliminary response to Skepta’s “Friendly Fire” diss monitor.

In case you missed it, final Friday (July 11) at midnight, the U.Okay. grime star dropped a fiery tune that took goal at various Stateside Hip Hop figures, together with Ebro Darden, DJ Akademiks, ASAP Rocky and Lucas. So far, the ADHD rapper hasn’t responded in rhyme. Instead, he took to his official X account on Sunday to put up a video of himself listening to the bars aimed his approach. The Massachusetts-born rapper is seen grinning (and possibly even barely nodding alongside) to Skepta’s verse. Near the tip of the clip — and after shaking his head in disagreement to the road, “You haven’t had a hit song for the longest” — he seems within the digital camera and says, “Aight, say less my boy.”

It’s additionally price noting that Lucas replied with a laughing emoji to the infamous clip making the social media rounds of Drake — earlier than welcoming Skepta to the stage — saying “London rappers are the best lyricists in the world.”

Considering the continuing debate about who has the higher emcees, Skepta is primed for the smoke. Whether or not Lucas responds together with his personal hearth, now we have to attend and eagerly see.
