Despite a robust debut from “What Did I Miss,” it’s clear Drake nonetheless needed to steal the spot from Alex Warren’s “Ordinary.”

Drake missed the highest of the Billboard Hot 100 this week, as his newest monitor “What Did I Miss” debuted at No. 2, proper behind Alex Warren’s large hit, “Ordinary.”

Despite the robust debut, Drake made it clear he was irritated by the snub. Taking to his Instagram Stories, he wrote, “Suppressor on the No. 1 spot. I’m taking that soon. Don’t worry. One song or another. Rule changes and all.”

Warren’s “Ordinary” has been steadily constructing momentum, pushed by TikTok virality and a wave of emotional assist from youthful listeners. The monitor’s rise to the highest marks the primary time Warren has led the Hot 100, a notable feat for a newcomer in an area sometimes dominated by veterans like Drake.

The Toronto rapper’s chart disappointment comes months after his high-profile lyrical conflict with Kendrick Lamar, a battle many within the Hip-Hop world noticed as a transparent win for Lamar. Drake’s new single, which many imagine is laced with subliminal jabs, seems to be a part of his ongoing effort to reassert dominance within the style.

Fans didn’t waste time dragging Drake for the submit both. Comments like, “Drake drops 80 songs after the battle, one finally gets some good traction, and all of a sudden HE’S BACK! Stop this blasphemy” and “Bro still cares about the charts. Kdot got him spooked” have been rampant. Additional remarks like, “All this dude care about is numbers that ain’t hip hop that’s why yo art stinks” and “sounds like he’s still crying” adopted.

“What Did I Miss” is Drake’s newest try to reclaim the narrative after a bruising 2023, when Lamar’s lyrical takedowns left him on the defensive. Though the music didn’t take the highest spot, it nonetheless marks his 78th entry into the Hot 100’s Top 10.
