Spike Lee walked again his Cannes feedback about ending his movie partnership with Denzel Washington.

Spike Lee reversed course in New York, stepping again from earlier feedback that his fifth film with Denzel Washington would mark the tip of their decades-long collaboration.

At a Cannes Film Festival press convention in May, Lee had recommended that their upcoming thriller Highest 2 Lowest would seemingly be their last joint venture.

But when requested about that assertion in the course of the movie’s U.S. premiere, the Oscar-winning director made it clear he’s not so positive.

“I said that before, but I got my mind right,” Lee instructed The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m open to work with Denzel Washington and this not be the last film of the dynamic duo, D and Lee.”
