Quavo and The Rocket Foundation launched an Emergency Trauma Therapy Fund in direct response to the reportedly 49 individuals who had been shot over the weekend in Atlanta. The violence was notably private in that two of the victims — Deshawn Johnson, 18, who attended Rocket Camp in 2024 and a Rocket Foundation grantee Offender Alumni chief Aaron “Coach Ball” Hines — had been a part of the inspiration’s household.

On Tuesday (July 29), native information outlet 11Alive reported that 47 folks had been shot, and 5 folks had been killed in Atlanta space shootings over 4 days, noting that there was a “surge” in violence.
