In an announcement to Variety, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson responded to the backlash by saying, “Thank you, SZA, for drawing even more attention to the tremendous work America’s ICE officers are doing by arresting dangerous criminal illegal aliens from American communities.”

SZA isn’t alone in her criticism.

Pop singer Sabrina Carpenter additionally condemned the administration after her track “Juno” was utilized in the same ICE-themed video montage. “This video is evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda,” she posted on-line.
