Max B Officially Released From Prison After More Than 15 Years Behind Bars
After greater than a decade behind bars, Harlem rapper Max B—actual title Charly Wingate—has formally been launched from jail.
The “Wavy Crockett” rapper was initially sentenced to 75 years in 2009 for his alleged function in a botched theft that turned lethal in New Jersey.
However, his conviction was later overturned, and in 2016 he struck a plea deal that decreased his sentence to aggravated manslaughter—considerably shortening his time behind bars.
Max B had been hinting at his launch for months, even calling into The Joe Budden Podcast earlier this 12 months to announce, “We got a date! I’ve got November 9, 2025, baby!” Now, it seems the Wave God has made good on that promise.
According to an Instagram put up, he’s formally house. “CANT MAKE THIS UP ! MY BROTHER REALLY CAME HOME ON MY B DAY ! HAMDULILLAH WALKED IT DOWN ! NO MORE FREE YOU..” wrote French Montana through Instagram.
Max B’s affect on New York rap is plain; his melodic supply, larger-than-life charisma, and signature “wavy” fashion helped form a era of artists who adopted, together with French Montana and A$AP Mob.
Welcome house, Max.
